Lindum has been named as the top Construction Company in the UK again in this year’s prestigious ‘Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For’ list announced last night, and ranks 15th overall.
‘The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For’ lists are compiled based on research from the largest survey of its kind and this year nearly 900 organisations took part and 250,000 employees were surveyed.
Sixteen Lindum employees were at the high profile Awards Ceremony to hear the news first hand. Kim Maure, Customer Services Manager for our Construction Division, was one of those who attended the event at Battersea Events Arena, London, on Thursday 27th February.Kim said “I was delighted to be asked to attend the awards ceremony this year. It was a great atmosphere with hundreds of people and many high profile companies taking part. I think it’s like the business equivalent of the BAFTAs but this time it’s the employees’ votes that count.”
“To be in the winning top 15 companies is itself an incredible achievement but this year’s award means Lindum has been listed in the ‘top 20’ companies consistently now since 2008, which is fantastic for our construction company!”
Lindum was also presented with a special award in recognition of the highest average ranking in the ‘Best Companies To Work For’ list for the past ten years.
There to receive this award was Lindum Chairman, David Chambers, he said “It’s great news for all of us at Lindum but also for the construction industry. We employ a wide range of people in various locations and numerous occupations, from skilled tradesmen on our building sites to office based support staff, so it’s quite remarkable and very rewarding to get such positive feedback from our employees. To be listed in the top 100 companies in the UK is an added bonus and not something we ever take for granted.”
Lindum also scored highly in the categories for Wellbeing, Leadership and Giving Something Back. Sound leadership, an open door policy by senior managers where ‘the best argument wins’ encourages staff to have their say and the free share scheme that gives employees a personal stake in the company, were amongst the key factors highlighted in making Lindum a good place to work.
